Good question..I'm getting sick of trying to find Quadrilogy at a decent price too. I think it's just over a hundred at Future Shop.
For anyone who knows their shit....
Is there any difference between the 9-disc Quadrilogy set and the new seperately released versions of the movies besides that 9th disc with the documentary on it?
I'm curious because I'm thinking of finally buying these movies, and I'd rather have all the seperate cases with all the collector's editions of each movie instead of the one big box with a pile of discs in it. I'm pretty sure I've seen that 9th-disc documentary, so if that's the only difference, I won't mind very much...

The movies should all be the same if they're 2-discs each...
BTW, if I remember correctly, the 9th disc was trailers and stuff, the "Alien Saga" isn't on the Quadrilogy set at all (which is why it can now be purchased on dvd seperately)...
I just looked through some reviews, and there seems to be no difference, except for that 9th disc (which includes a documentary from the UK which I've seen a few times on TV, all the trailers and TV spots, and "laserdisc archives" which lets you have a look at stuff that appeared on the original LD versions).
I really don't care much about any of that stuff, and it's gonna be a bit difficult for me to drop a hundred in one place like that, so I guess I'll be getting these movies seperately...
i gothe the quadrilogoy set for like 72$ around x-mas time from Sam's Club.
I have the box set, and it kicks ass. I'm not too sure what each individual DVD has, but each movie in the box set has both the Theatrical Version and Director's Cut. They also each have "The Making of" documentaries for each film.
The ninth disk has another documentary called "Alien Evolution" which follows the evolution of the movies and design features of the Aliens and sets. Also on this disk is an awesome tour of Bob Burns' Alien collection.
doesn't the box set include seperate cases for each movie just like if you by them separate?
No.

When opened, the nine DVDs are side-by-side.
It's freakin' massive when unfolded...lol.
